Rainbow Island Wreck Diving Day Tour

Blue Kinabalu Travel Agency are proud to be able to offer the first opportunity to wreck dive in Kota Kinabalu! In 2023 three abandoned boats were intentionally sunk to create an artifical reef and enhance local surrounding marine diversity. The boats lie at a depth between 12 & 27 metres. There are packages for both DSD (Discover Scuba Diving) and LD (Leisure Dive) for divers with a recognised diving qualification e.g. PADI. So even if you’re a complete diving novice your first dive could be even more special enjoying the sight of a wrecked ship and potentially barracuda, grouper and angelfish!

Rainbow Island Wreck Diving Day Tour Sample Itinerary (DSD)

0730 - Meet at Jesselton Point

0800 - Depart for Rainbow Island by boat.

0830 - Arrive at Rainbow Island, welcome drink served & briefing by the staff. Proceed with check in registration.

0900 - Dive briefing & Equipment Setup.

0930 - Confined water training at shallow water for basic scuba skills.

1030 - Surface Interval & do log dives

1100 - Guided dive around a shallow wreck.

1200 – Lunch (included) & relaxation on island

1300 - 2nd wreck dive, focusing on exploration and buoyancy.

1400 - Return to jetty. Rinse gear, log dives, and relax.

1430 - Head back to mainland. Tour end.

0830 - Depart for Rainbow Island by boat.

0900 - Arrive at Rainbow Island, welcome drink served & briefing by the staff. Proceed with check in registration.

0930 - First wreck dive (Shallow Wreck Exploration).

1100 - Surface Interval and log dives.

1200 - Second wreck dive (Deeper Wreck Exploration).

1300 - Lunch (Included) & Relaxation on the island.

1400 - Debrief and do log dives.

1430 - Head back to mainland. Tour end.

Rainbow Island Wreck Diving Informarion

· Normally minium four pax required but check availability with Blue Kinabalu team

· Please note that all particpants are required to sign a Blue Kinabalu Travel Agency “Fitness to Dive” declaration / Liability Waiver as a condition of booking

· minimum age to dive is 12 years old.

· Please note that dives will be conducted from either pontoon or boat dependent on weather conditions.

· This tour is sold as ‘seat-in-coach’ (you will be joined by other divers)
