A great way to maximise your time as in one day tour you visit both beautiful Mantanani Island and then later in the day enjoy two river cruises at Kawa Kawa, the first looking for mangrove, wildlife (including proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques and monitor lizards) and the second river cruise be enchanted by the amazing fireflies (subject to weather conditions).

0700 - Pick-Up from your hotel (only Kota Kinabalu City area)

0930 - Arrive at Rampayan Jetty (near Kota Belud) and complete registration for departure to island

0945 - Travel to Mantanani by boat (45 minute journey)

1100 - Snorkeling

1200 - Lunch

1330 - Water Sports e.g. Kayak (have fun on the beach and in the sea!)

1430-1500 - Prepare for return by boat to Rampayan Jetty and transfer by road

1545 - Arrival at Kawa Kawa - Hi-Tea will be served.

1630 - The first of two river cruises - there’s wildlife in the area including long-tail macaques, proboscis monkeys and monitor lizards and your local guide will know the best places to look for these however as in all things natural there’s no guarantee of seeing wildlife. If it’s a clear day you’ll also enjoy an imposing view of Mount Kinabalu.

1730 - Travel to Cabana Beach and assuming it’s a nice day there may be an opportunity to enjoy a magnificent sunset

1800 - Dinner

1900 - The second river cruise to look for fireflies (that are actually winged beetles) that congregate and flash in the mangrove to create displays that have been described as a “Summer Christmas Tree”.

1930 -  Depart and drive south to Kota Kinabalu arriving at your hotel (only Kota Kinabalu City area) around 9:00 p.m (subject to traffic)
